Rucha, a talented and versatile musician hailing from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, possesses a powerful voice with an incredible range that spans all three octaves. Her musical journey began at the tender age of 7, and she has since cultivated her art under the tutelage of esteemed gurus from the Gwalior, Kirana, and Agra-Jaipur gharanas. Her mentors include Shri Parulekar, Shri Appa Indurkar, and Vidushi Arati Ankalikar Tikekar.

 

Now based in New Jersey, Rucha runs the Svar Naad School of Music, where she is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of vocalists and music enthusiasts. Her school is a beacon of Hindustani classical music, fostering talent and a deep appreciation for this rich tradition.

 

Rucha's musical career gained early recognition in 1993 when, at just 10 years old, she won the top prize in a highly competitive field at Soor Sangam Sansthan, Jaipur. After moving to the United States, she continued to achieve acclaim, winning the prestigious BMM Swarangan Competition in 2011 and securing a place among the top 20 contestants in Zee Sa Re Ga Ma 2012.

Her notable performances and recordings include:

- An original composition "Ghana Vadan," composed by Dr. Saleel Kulkarni.

- Lead singer in the off-Broadway production "Music in My Blood."

- An original Marathi Bhavgeet EP in New Jersey.

 

In addition to her prowess as a vocalist, Rucha is also a composer, having written and composed several original songs, showcasing her multifaceted talent in music creation.

 

Rucha has excelled in prestigious musical conferences throughout India and abroad, earning accolades for her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft. Her achievements are a testament to her natural talent and the meticulous guidance she received from her mentors. In addition to her musical pursuits, Rucha has an impressive academic background, holding a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. Despite a promising career in physical therapy, Rucha chose to devote herself fully to her passion for music.

 

Rucha's journey is a harmonious blend of innate talent and disciplined training. She remains a humble and self-effacing artist, continuously inspiring and enriching the world of Hindustani classical and Bollywood music.
